Sonic Youth - "Bull In The Heather" - Battery Park, NYC July 4th 2008 [For all the Taurus/symbol of the bull signs... "Battery Park, NYC July 4th 2008 is a live album by American noise punk band Sonic Youth, recorded at the River to River Festival in Battery Park, New York, on July 4, 2008. It was released June 9, 2009, coinciding with the release of The Eternal. It has only been released on vinyl and digital services. The album was mixed at Echo Canyon West, a studio often used by the band." ................... Bull In The Heather: "The song was written collectively by Sonic Youth, and production was done by Butch Vig. Singer and bassist Kim Gordon explained that the song is about "using passiveness as a form of rebellion—like, I'm not going to participate in your male-dominated culture, so I'm just going to be passive". The song's title is a reference to the race horse Bull Inthe Heather, who won the Florida Derby in 1993. [At 25-1 odds] ......................... The music video was directed by Tamra Davis and produced by Kris Krengle. Filmed in Los Angeles, the video features Bikini Kill singer Kathleen Hanna dancing and occasionally interacting with the band members, particularly guitarist Thurston Moore; she accidentally gave Moore a bloody lip during filming. Also featured are a young couple hanging out in a semi-wooded field and stock footage of horses racing. .......The scenes of Moore and Lee Ranaldo jumping around on a bed were inspired by a photo of Moore when he was younger. At the time of the video, bassist Kim Gordon was five months pregnant." Sonic Youth - Bull In The Heather (Official Video)] [0:00:00]

Amyl and the Sniffers - "Born To Be Alive" - Born To Be Alive [Baby Amyl and the Sniffers! "An anthem to help us stage dive into 2021, with full hearts and flailing limbs” “It’s good 2 be alive!” the band wrote on Instagram to announce the cover. “CELEBRATE THE WIERD YEAR!...."Born to Be Alive" is a song written by French singer Patrick Hernandez. It became a worldwide hit and reached number one on the U.S. Billboard National Disco Action chart in early 1979. The song achieved gold status in the United States, Brazil, Germany and Italy, platinum in Australia and Canada, and silver in the United Kingdom. Also, in a feel good moment, the band donated 35K to Melbourne small music venues. Good peeps!!] [0:06:22]
24KIARA - "Cake" - Asleep In the Ballroom [It's HERE! I've been so excited for this record. Also who doesn't love cake? Especially birthday cake, because I'm an icing whore. 24 KIARA is a delicious blend of electro, pop, and indie rock. Imagine catchy synth melodies that get your feet tapping and make you want to dance, shimmering disco arpeggios, and hard-hitting beats. After releasing their debut EP "Hodophilia" in 2023, the trio takes things up a notch, flirting with rawer garage rock sounds, but always with a...

Ocean Therapy - "Rosy Sea" - Along The Coast [0:00:00]
Good News - "Dumskaya Disko" - Big Shapes [Good News return with 'Big Shapes' the follow up to their debut album 'Small Forms'. It's been a busy year, which has seen the band make its first foray into Europe for Rotterdam's Left Of the Dial festival, as well as cement their status as regulars on both UK national radio and the independent venue touring circuit.
Fans of telling it like it is will be relieved - 'Big Shapes' features expanded arrangements in every sense, with the wonky post-punkers from Sheffield cranking up the dance dial and heading for industrial funk. Likely to please those fond of acronyms like ACR and ESG, contradictions like disco not disco and Was Not Was, and all the music those things stand for.
Local dues are due, though, and 'Big Shapes' at times recalls Broadcast, of Warp Records, as much as it does the aforementioned. The multilingual lyrics continue to span the literary and the political, in a way that's fun as opposed to for the pointy heads, of course. 'Big Shapes' broadens the scope of Good News, creating a proposition as at home in clubs as it is the DIY spaces that birthed the band.

Iguana Death Cult - "Heavyweight" - Guns Out [FINALLY! The record is out and yes, it's awesome. “Iguana Death Cult’s latest evolution finds the Rotterdam band reflecting on hardship and doubt while facing a burning world. The result channels their early punk and garage roots, powered by Tobias Opschoor’s razor-sharp riffs, Uri Rennert’s relentless drumming, Jimmy de Kok’s groovy rhythms and Jeroen Reek’s raw, emotive vocals.
Formed in 2014, they have grown from a group of friends into a renowned act, touring with Osees and Frankie And The Witch Fingers, supporting Jack White, and appearing at SXSW, Levitation and Desert Daze.
Their new album Guns Out marks a return to punchy garage rock, exploring escapism, mental strain, and creative renewal. Tough yet introspective, the record captures a band coming to terms with its own evolution and the world around it.”] [0:07:18]
Choncy - "Bypass" - Trademark [Ahhh this song is SOO GOOD. On April 17, Cincinnati post-punk outfit Choncy release their new album Trademark via Feel It Records. The album’s described in a press statement as a series of “Unpredictable dances between demented dissonance and craggy punches,” The g record was made separately, together, with each member recording in their respective practice spaces and bedrooms without missing a beat...] [0:10:25]
BRONT - "Bathroom" - The Regime [Another freaking awesome track! It's maniacal, robotic, hypnotic. It's BRONT. We love BRONT. After “ Toilet ” comes “Bathroom”. That way we keep our hands clean! BRONT, the project by and centered around Brent Pauwels, has already released a number of EPs, and soon we can expect another one with The Regime ...This is music where edges have been filed or chipped off—think of bands like Ween and They Might Be Giants—and feel free to place BRONT in their ranks...] [0:13:02]
Kerosene Kream - "Chronic Atomic" - Bye Mom! EP [From Stockholm, Sweden...where much great rock comes from. "Artificial rock from the hands of the Automated Worker." Quirky new wave from Stockholm for the now-times. They’ve got a quirky vibe, not in an arty or weirdo way but fun, like if GORILLA ANGREB was really the B-52’S. All four songs are upbeat and have strong pop hooks, elevated by multiple charismatic vocalists and a layer of electronics that liven up the whole production. It’s okay and even healthy to have a little fun every once in a while, so if you’re brooding as much as I am these days look no further than KEROSENE KREAM if you need a little pick-me-up....- Maximum RnR] [0:14:39]

No Peeling - "Stationery" - EP2 [This track released April 7, 2026. ---- "Formed in 2025 as a studio project by five friends in the fertile Nottingham DIY underground, No Peeling have rapidly expanded way beyond their initial brief. September 2025’s self-titled EP was the perfect introduction to the No Peeling universe. Bandcamp Daily picked it as an Essential Release, calling it “a clanging collection of get-in-get-out egg punk that doesn’t ask for more than 10 minutes of your time and overdelivers on every front”. It managed to cram a lifetime of idea-nuggets into seven songs that rarely exceeded the minute mark. A blast of enthusiasm and hyperactivity, the EP was the audio equivalent of a barrage firework: exhilarating and energising (although slightly confusing unless experienced from a distance). ...................... Whilst the first EP was completed before the band had played live; EP2 hits a little differently. Written in preparation for their first UK tour and recorded just after, No Peeling’s new-found live energy pushes the results to somewhere new again. EP2 has the garage punk clatter and sparkly efficiency of their debut but is somehow faster and weirder. The guitar and synth seem to be engaged in a constant (playful) fight, tumbling further and further away from the song structure being held together (and propelled) by one of the tightest rhythm sections around. The scrawl and skronk might occasionally recall No Wave but those grooves are locked down. ........................ This all provides the perfect foundation for the wry, dry observations of Sophie Diver. From pasta post and fluff-clad delinquents to clingfilm catastrophes and poor working conditions, all modern life’s bases (good and bad) are covered and emerge miraculously from a magic-eye explosion of clangs, thwacks and bloops. And just when everything finally comes into focus it’s over and done with. Flip it back to side A, play it again." https://nopeeling.bandcamp.com/] [0:02:17]
Station Model Violence - "Falling Down" - Station Model Violence [Station Model Violence are from Sydney, Australia. Released Feb 27, 2026. ................... "Station Model Violence had a demo out in 2024 and at the start of 2025 the recording of what became their first album took place – in both Naarm and Eora. DX of Total Control had moved to Eora/Sydney after the lockdowns and started a group with members of Den, Diät and G2G. This group evolved into Station Model Violence as Buz joined and contributed some songs that were destined for R.M.F.C.. Together with their first material, it melded into a unique sound and the group solidified around DX, Buz, Micky and Michael from Denm and Kuceli from Gaud. Anti Fade picked them up of course and in February a selftitled 10-track LP [came] out..." https://stationmodelviolence.bandcamp.com/] [0:04:06]
Sunday Mourners - "Unwitting Boy" - A-Rhythm Absolute [Released January 16, 2026. Sunday Mourners are from Los Angeles, California. "Sunday Mourners are here and it is ok. It is ok to feel good about indie music again. ‘A-Rhythm Absolute‘ is a perfect fresh analogue debut album from twenty-four year old four piece from all over the battered USA, who now reside under Curation Records' proud wing in LA. .................... Pungent, characterful stories delivered by vocalist Quinn lead the show set to a tune-laden punchy pallet from a classic rock set up oozing effortless angular groove. Echoes of Television or Wire only gives you a clue to Sunday Mourners hooky sound as the album matches the art-rock with its strong playful melodies. .................. “Recorded at Jazzcats Studio in Long Beach California, owned and operated by their dear friend Jonny Bell who engineered, mixed & mastered the record on a 2 inch tape machine which contained “Lot of fender single coils and dry DI sounds, a few pianos, standup basses and moogs, a vintage slingerland kit....

Telehealth - "Things I've Killed" - Green World Image [“Things I’ve Killed” is another highlight from Green World Image, the band’s forthcoming Sub Pop debut, out Friday, May 15th, 2026.
Telehealth offers this on “Things I’ve Killed,” “The title of the song came after we found a subreddit devoted to blaming millennials for killing entire industries, right down to mayonnaise. We loved the visceral premise in contrast to the absurd accusations so much that while demoing it, we started mocking the idea as a millennial hit list in a breathless cadence inspired by the R.E.M. classic ‘It’s the End of the World as We Know It.’
“It kind of took off from there, turning the accusations into a spiraling chant of brand names, culture wars, and economic buzzwords (no one really knows what they mean!!!). What began as a joke slowly became a portrait of modern doomscrolling, where genocide, cute puppies, and economic collapse sit side by side with every swipe. Equal parts satire and self-indictment, it’s a danceable purge full of cheap thrills and guillotines that begs the question: is it kill or be killed in the attention economy?”] [0:02:31]
24KIARA - "Brainrot" - Brainrot [24 KIARA is a tasty blend of electro, pop and indie rock. Imagine synthetic melodies that stick to your legs and make you want to dance, shimmering disco arpeggios and hard-hitting beats. After their first release in 2023, the trio take it up a notch, flirting with rawer garage-rock sounds, but always with a well-assumed pop touch. They are from Lausanne, Switzerland. YAAAAY! I am so looking forward to seeing where this all goes....I could just listen and dance and party to this ALL DAY.] [0:05:24]

Violets are blue
I was STEVE
But now it is you
I been away but now I is back You have the ship
Now take up the slack YOU ARE STEVE
Look at this web presence, it is a vintage, used item and therefore may have some signs of wear and tear..."i'm a one man band, nobody knows or understands" From Manchester, where all cool things come from. I hate to use the term but this song has VIBE FOR DAYYYYSSSS. That slidey guitar bit can't be argued with.] [0:08:05]
Rex Ramona - "CWORLD" - CWORLD [Rex Ramona is an indie/alt band out of San Diego that incorporates psychedelic funk and raw surf rock into the basis of pop punk. Formed by musicians from across the Golden State, from the bay to the border, the band converged in Southern California to build something loud, electrifying, and consistently changing.
The name blends Rex, Latin for “King,” with Ramona, a nod to the elusive, rustic, and lesser-known hills east of San Diego. Serves to represent the ambitions and goals of the band, while acknowledging their unique roots. They are goofy as fuck but they deliver groove and psych. So good.
Drawing inspiration from bands like The Strokes, Gorillaz, Twenty One Pilots, Green Day, and even the theatrical sweep of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Rex Ramona blends garage grit with cinematic ambition] [0:11:38]
Big Bill - "The Terrible Truth" - Sick Myth [Two major moves followed the release of Big Bill’s expansive 2024 LP Strawberry Seed: singer Eric Braden from Austin to Philly, and Donald Trump from Mar-a-Lago back into the White House. The former and his still-local bandmates, bassist Alan Lauer, drummer Jeffrey Olson, and guitarist Alex Riegelman, wrote and recorded that album’s follow-up in a mad dash before those relocations, and it shows. Out Nov. 21 on Pooneh Ghana’s new “feeder label” TODO Records, Sick Myth picks at contemporary American absurdity like a scab. Unsubtly titled singles “The Money Store” and “Cameras” rebuke capitalism and the surveillance state, while “Young Men of the World” addresses its audience head-on – “don’t be a bad guy, don’t be a cop” – like an impassioned big brother to last year’s wry “Emotions.” (Standalone July singles “If You Work for ICE” and “14...

Stompin' Tom Connors - "Muk Luk Shoo" - To It And At It [We can probably all agree that this is Stompin' Tom's trippiest arrangement; a Canadian Country-Western song as weird as "I Am The Walrus"? Probably not... But maybe?... ............................ A short excerpt from the fascinating story of one of Canada's storytellers: "At 13 he ran away from his adoptive family to hitchhike across Canada. He got his first guitar at 14, and at 15 he wrote his first song called "Reversing Falls Darling". His hitchhiking journey consumed the next 13 years of his life as he travelled among various part-time jobs while writing songs on his guitar, singing for his supper. He worked in mines and rode in boxcars, and in the coldest part of winter he welcomed vagrancy arrests for the warm place to sleep. At his last stop in Timmins, Ontario, he found himself a nickel short of a 35-cent beer at the city's Maple Leaf Hotel. Connors told the bartender to put the cap back on the bottle and he'd head for the Sally Ann, but the bartender, Gaëtan Lepine, accepted the 30 cents and offered him a second beer if he would open his guitar case and play a few songs. These few songs turned into a 14-month run at the hotel, a weekly spot on CKGB in Timmins, eight 45-RPM recordings, and the end of the beginning for Tom Connors. ................ Connors was never part of the Canadian musical establishment, and his style was quite different from other Canadian icons such as Leonard Cohen or Gordon Lightfoot. He could, however, be characterized as a passionist poet within Canadian culture, similar to Milton Acorn and Stan Rogers... ...Typically writing about Canadian lore and history, some of Connors' better-known songs include "Bud the Spud", "Big Joe Mufferaw", "The Black Donnellys", "The Martin Hartwell Story", "Reesor Crossing Tragedy", "Sudbury Saturday Night", and "The Hockey Song". This last, often incorrectly called "The Good Old Hockey Game," is frequently played over sound systems at National Hockey League (NHL) games. Throughout the years, Connors never lost touch with Gaëtan Lepine, the bartender he befriended in Timmins; in fact, the two wrote many songs together. These songs are featured in 250 Songs by Stompin' Tom: Including All the Words and Chords."] [0:02:46]
Roger Miller - "Lou's Got The Flu" - Roger And Out ["Roger and Out is the debut studio album of country music artist Roger Miller, which was released under the Smash Records label in 1964." ........................ "Roger Dean Miller Sr. (January 2, 1936 – October 25, 1992) was an American singer-songwriter, widely known for his honky-tonk-influenced novelty songs and his chart-topping country hits "King of the Road", "Dang Me", and "England Swings". ................... After growing up in Oklahoma and serving in the U.S. Army, Miller began his musical career as a songwriter in the late 1950s, writing such hits as "Billy Bayou" and "Home" for Jim Reeves and "Invitation to the Blues" for Ray Price. He later began a recording career and reached the peak of his fame in the mid-1960s, continuing to record and tour into the 1990s, charting his final top-20 country hit "Old Friends" with Price and Willie Nelson in 1982. He also wrote and performed several of the songs for the 1973 Disney animated film Robin Hood. Later in his life, he wrote the music and lyrics for the 1985 Tony Award−winning Broadway musical Big River, in which he played Pap Finn in 1986. .................... Miller died from lung cancer in 1992, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame three years later. He was also inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2005. His songs continued to be recorded by other singers, with covers of "Tall, Tall Trees" by Alan Jackson and "Husbands and Wives" by Brooks and Dunn; both reached the number-one spot on country charts in the 1990s. The Roger Miller Museum — now closed — in his home town of Erick, Oklahoma,...
